London’s No.1 Hip-Hop party, The Doctor’s Orders, is synonymous with quality underground music brought to you by the very best DJs and live acts from both sides of the pond and enjoyed by one of the most fun loving & diverse crowds in the capital.
Tonight’s line up once again brings together heavyweights of not only Hip-Hop but jazz and soul infused party sounds of all genres to rock what is sure to be another packed house. While Detroit’s own Waajeed joins Spin Doctor & Mr Thing in the main room Benji B returns alongside first timers Morgan Spacek and Bruce Wayne in what is another incredible line up. With a line up consisting made up of not only phenomenal talent but also good friends the love of good music and fellow man is sure to permeate the whole club tonight.
Waajeed is a true hero to the underground Hip-Hop / Soul scene. As founder of PPP (Platinum Pied Pipers) and producer for the cream of the crop of established and upcoming artists including Slum Village, Estelle, Dwele, Jean Grae and so many more he has created jazz infused sounds capes that are constantly evolving while always signature Waajeed beats. While not in the studio he rocks parties around the world and tonight will be no exception.
Alongside Waajeed holding it down for the heads in room 1 are The Doctor’s Orders driving force and resident Spin Doctor and his good mate and crowd favorite Mr Thing. Between them they always know exactly what this knowledgeable dance-floor want and never disappoint with their selection of classic Boom-Bap, dirty Funk, original breaks and beyond.
While the Hip-Hop fans are treated to an unforgettable line up downstairs the first floor boasts some of the most creative talents & eclectic tastes on the UK scene in the shape of Benji B and Morgan Spacek who tonight are going back to back exclusively for The Doctor’s Orders. While one is best known for radio and the other for production work they are both phenomenally talented when it comes to treating dance-floors to sets of leftfield jazzy electronic beats. These good friends will be pushing each other to dig deep into their deep record stacks to reach for those exclusives from the wealth of talent that they have both enjoyed working with including J-Dilla, Mos Def, King Britt, Flying Lotus and way too many more to mention.
Warming up room 2 is an emerging talent in both radio and clubs Bruce Wayne. Already a veteran of the Brit School and Kiss FM DJ battles he has been digging for records since the tender age of 10 so expect a few treats from this young man as he blends his way through a selection of tracks many of which are older than he is!
