09 Get Fresh Crew New Orleans

Postby katricehill504 on Mon 23 Mar 2009 12:29

Greetings,

This right here goes out to all of my real Hip Hop fans of New Orleans music. No I’m not talking about bounce, although I listen and support because I am a true 504 person to my heart. This is a public service announcement and only one of many to come. After reading this post I no we need you all to check on this and support this movement that I’m getting ready to tell you all about down in New Orleans. The only way this will ever come to light is if we as fans do our part and put aside this “crab-in-a-barrel” bullshit! But at the same time, I’m a realist and I know that after reading this post, some of bitchass niggas is going to HATE! Sorry for cursing, but it is what it is. This is why New Orleans Hip Hop is in the state that it’s in at this very instant. The only way it can be fixed is if we follow the example of these individuals I’m going to tell you about. Some of you might think well New Orleans is already on the map through Lil Wayne. WRONG! Wayne don’t give a fuck about nobody but Wayne and his immediate Cash Money family. I would say he cares about his Young Money fam but he don’t give a flying 747 fuck about them either. I could elaborate further and expose his ass, but that’s a waste of energy focusing on the negative. This small article is positive and the breathe of fresh air that New Orleans, Southern Rap, and Hip Hop as a whole needs. So, here we go.

I’ll start by saying the people I’m discussing have nothing to with my post. They don’t know who I am or that I’m even doing this. This is all me, a die hard fan of New Orleans Hip Hop who wants to see these guys come together and make it. Recently there was a rumor on allhiphop.com, about a super group forming dubbed the ’09 Get Fresh Crew! In case you haven’t read it, here it is below:

09 Get Fresh Crew (www.allhiphop.com)

I heard there is a crew coming out of New Orleans called The Get Fresh Crew. Just a reminder, there is/was a crew called that and they are closely affiliated with the legendary Doug E. Fresh. But this Get Fresh Crew is quite interesting, because one of Lil Wayne’s former rap buds is in it – Curren$y. Apparently, Curren$y has hooked with Monsta Beatz, Fly Society Inc., Nesby Phips and some other players in the game. One source says these guys are supposed to be the ones who put New Orleans back on the map since the old Cash Money and No Limit days. Also, Curren$y is signing a huge deal with one of the majors some time this week in New York. Well, that’s nice. I know AHH helped, because he is all over the site! Still, I cant help but think…How do Doug E. Fresh, Barry B and Chill Will feel about this?

My response to this is, yes its very much true. The 09 Get Fresh Crew or GFC, which was given by the rumor consist of several people from artist to producers to labels to executives. And I have information on all of them. The artist and producers in the GFC are as follows: Curren$y, Da Underdoggs (T-Blakes & E To Da Z), Nesby Phips, and Monsta Beatz (Dee Low & Jizz). The executives include Troy Lagrange, Jamar “Marley B” Bailey, Jamal “Mally G” Simmons and Reginald “Shawty Reg” Butler. And the companies include Fly Society Inc., Star Status Music, CIRCLE Ent., Deeply Rooted Ent., and Backadahouse Inc. I have done my research on these people through the internet and they are all connected and in some cases are seen working, through photos and videos via myspace, etc., together for the past few months now. Everyone already knows or should already know who Curren$y, In case you didn’t he was one of the best artist signed to Wayne until Wayne felt the nigga belonged on the shelf. So Spitta left to do his own thing with his Fly Society imprint. Da Underdoggs are a group under the management of CIRCLE Entertainment. The group consists of two members, T-Blakes and E To Da Z. They are considered the UGK of New Orleans with T-Blakes’s amazing word play and rapid fire delivery and E To Da Z’s deep New Orleans accent and in your face lyrics. Nesby Phips has is own imprint, Backadahouse Productions, and he is one of the best and I mean the best and versatile producers our of New Orleans who also will bless the mic on your ass in a heartbeat. And lastly, the Mosta Beatz production duo of Star Status Music who consists of Dee Low and Jizz. They got some of the hardest production with that New Orleans banging in the streets right now. Be on the look out for all these guys to come together as one for a Get Fresh Crew album or mix tape with production by Nesby Phips and Monsta Beatz. Either way it goes, you other motherfuckers better step your game up quick, because the alliance is formed and moves are being made in New Orleans, Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, and all over Louisiana. And eventually, your own city, wherever that may be. If you don’t believe me, go to Ray Boom Boom Room in New Orleans on March 29, 2009 and see for your self. Stay tuned for more of these post later. Next time I’ll go in depth on how they all came together.

Here are some releases from the GFC as individuals:

Top Of The Money – produced by Nesby Phips

Jackin 4 Beats Southern Style Vol. 1 – Da Underdoggs
